The event will be held on Friday 15th September, at the exclusive Burhill Golf Club in Surrey, London. In the last 20 years, it has steadily grown to become the top charity golf event in Europe.

Now sponsored by Nedbank, the organisation came to fruition in the mid-90s, when a handful of South African businessmen based in London met up on the course.

Since then, they have managed to raise almost £2 million (R32 million) for South African charities through their golf days and are expecting to raise around £125,000 (R2 million) for this year’s autumn gathering.

In a significant boost to their operations, golf’s European Tour have thrown their might behind the Nedbank charity day and will be aiding the fundraising efforts, something that founder Geoff Johnson is thrilled by:

“What a privilege it is to have the support of The European Tour on the back of our much appreciated six-year relationship and Title sponsorship from Nedbank. For many years Nedbank have provided the South African sporting public with the opportunity to see the World’s top golfers in action at the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge. Through their renewed contract to continue the Nedbank South African Charity Golf Day in the UK, they are investing so much to improve the lives of children in South Africa through education, housing, medical and nutritional programs.”

2017 promises to be the event’s biggest year since their inception. They already have former president FW De Klerk as their patron and have secured lucrative sponsorship deals with Mantis Collection, British Airways, Rekorderling Cider and Staropramen

What can you expect from the day?
