MyCiti bus services to link Khayelitsha with Claremont, Wynberg
Good news for Capetonians! MyCiTi bus services will now link Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain with Claremont and Wynberg.

The City of Cape Town is reportedly spending R5.2 billion on rolling out MyCiti bus services to Phase 2A, formerly known as the Lansdowne-Wetton Corridor.
The expansion will accommodate a further 1.5 million commuters across the Metropolitan Municipality.
CITY OF CAPE TOWN EXPANDING MYCITI BUS SERVICES
According to MyCiti, Phase 2A arises from the City’s Integrated Public Transport Network (IPTN) plan, which envisages a continued phased implementation approach of the bus services across the entire city well into the 2030s.
The bus service said this is part of a commitment to redressing spatial inequality and implementing quality integrated public transport for the benefit of all residents and the local economy.
The MyCiti bus services will be coming to the following areas:
- Khayelitsha
- Mitchells Plain
- Nyanga
- Philippi
- Ottery
- Hanover Park
- Wynberg
- Claremont

Democratic Alliance (DA) Western Cape spokesperson on Mobility, Derrick America, the expansion is also set to create an estimated 9000 job opportunities in the City’s south east communities and an additional 1008 jobs will be created to operate these expanded services.
Derrick said this expansion will drive economic development and support equality and inclusivity by providing access to economic activities and opportunities to all the residents of Cape Town.
