Musi Maimane’s BOSA party manifesto focuses on job creation

Former Democratic Alliance (DA) poster boy and now leader of the Build One South Africa (Bosa) party, Mmusi Maimane, if you have a job in South Africa today, you should count yourself very lucky.

Because 11 million other people don’t have one, they lose hope of ever finding one. Maimane was speaking about the party’s manifesto launch, which focused on job creation.

“I am convinced that the fastest and surest way to build South Africa is to create more jobs.” “Our nation’s spirit is broken. We are robbed of dignity – dignity to have meaningful work, dignity to put food on the table.”

“We sit with the highest youth unemployment in the world while corrupt politicians find new ways every day to steal, break, and bend the rules for their own benefit,” he said.

The former DA leader, who resigned in 2019 after the party blamed him for poor election results, said so many men in our country are stripped of their responsibility to provide for their families as they hustle to find jobs.

“Every Monday morning, a train will leave from Soweto – boarded by mainly Africans – off to jobs that barely pay a living wage. At the same time, another train will leave from Sandton – clean, air-conditioned, and costly – filled with wealthy South Africans off to meaningful work and well-paying jobs,” Maimane said.

THIS YEAR’S ELECTIONS ARE ABOUT CREATING JOBS: MAIMANE

He said this year’s election would be vital as we move away from voting along racial, ethnic, religious, gender, or tribal lines. Maimane said the elections were about one thing, creating jobs for every home.

“Those who want to mobilise people on the basis of such immutable features cannot and do not have a vision to unite and build one South Africa.
