Murderers of the beloved Krugersdorp veterinarian still at large

Police were still searching for the murderers who shot and killed 43-year-old Dr. Corli van der Walt in Krugersdorp a week ago.

The murderers who shot and killed a beloved veterinarian of Krugersdorp a week ago are still at large. 


Captain Mavela Masondo, police spokesperson confirmed on Sunday the police have not made any arrests yet.

“We are investigating a case of murder, the investigation is ongoing.” 

Dr. Corli van der Walt (43) was shot and killed in Bell Drive, Rangeview early on Saturday morning, last week. 

She was found inside her vehicle at about 08:00 on Saturday.

 Van der Walt had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The Bromhof Veterinary Clinic where Van der Walt had been working posted the following on their Facebook page: 

“It is with a very heavy heart that I need to write this to inform our clients that our beloved friend and your beloved vet, Dr Corli Van Der Walt, passed away yesterday in tragic circumstances.

“She was shot and killed in Krugersdorp on her way to work. Corli has been with the clinic for the past 4 years and she has been such an incredible asset to the Bromhof Team, she is going to be sorely missed. We ask for your patience and support in the next few weeks while we all manage with this extreme loss, our team is devastated and it is going to be a very difficult time ahead for us.” 


“Her love and passion for her job as a vet and her care for her patients was exceptional. She always had a smile on her face and nothing was too difficult for her to do. She was a brilliant mentor and even better friend. We have been so blessed to have had her with our team these past 4 years and we will miss her dearly.”
