The South African Police are investigating a murder case after a police captain was stabbed to death on Saturday night, 21 January 2023 in Khayelitsha, Western Cape.
POLICE CAPTAIN STABBED TO DEATH IN KHAYELITSHA
Members of the Muizenberg police station are reeling from the shock following the murder of one of the station’s police officials.

The Western Cape police issued a statement saying the circumstances surrounding the incident that led to the murder of the police captain who was stabbed to death, are under investigation.
HAWKS HAVE SIGHTS ON POLICE MURDERER
It stated that the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) is investigating the murder and already has its sights on the suspected perpetrator, who has yet to be arrested.

“The deceased was attached to Muizenberg police station. The Western Cape police management has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.”

Police will release more details about the deceased after consultation with his family.
In an unrelated incident, three men were shot and killed in Gugulethu on Sunday evening, 22 January 2023.
Police say the murder victims are aged between 28 and 30.

Reports from the scene indicate the vehicle in which the deceased persons were traveling in had just entered NY6 at approximately 17:50 when it came under fire from unknown gunmen who later fled in another vehicle.
Numerous shots were fired at the car wounding all occupants.
“Two of the victims died on the scene while a third died later in hospital after sustaining serious gunshot wounds from the shooting incident.
“The motive for the shooting is yet to be determined with provincial detectives pursuing several leads as part of their investigation.”
