Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president Floyd Shivambu says Kaizer Chiefs should use the opportunity to look for a coach after Molefi Ntseki was fired from the club.

The club confirmed that it fired Ntseki on Monday, 23 October.

KAIZER CHIEFS FIRES MOLEFI NTSEKI

Ntseki joined Kaizer Chiefs in June 2021 as Head of Technical and Youth Development after he was sacked by the South African Football Association just after 20 months as Head Coach of Bafana Bafana. He took over as the Kaizer Chiefs senior team Head Coach in June 2023.

In a statement, the Soweto giants said given the recent run of disappointing results, Molefi Ntseki’s tenure as Head Coach of Kaizer Chiefs has ended amicably by mutual consent.

The club added that this was the best course of action under the prevailing circumstances.

Recently, Ntseki and his assistant Arthur Zwane have been attacked by fans who could not hide their anger over disappointing results and failure to restore Kaizer Chiefs to its former glory.

“Cavin Johnson, who recently joined Chiefs as Head of the Youth Development Academy, will take over as the First Team coach on an interim basis. Current assistant coach, Dillon Sheppard will retain his position under Johnson.

Assistant Coach, Arthur Zwane will return to his former role within the development structures of the Club.

Reacting to the news, Malema’s deputy said there is a difference between aspirant coaches and coaches.

“Bye Bye! We cautioned from the beginning that there’s a huge different between aspirant Coaches and Coaches. We humbly request that you use this opportunity to look for a Coach, and not use the FC as trial grounds. Those who want trials must do it elsewhere. Please,” he tweeted.
