Midrand hailstorm: Helpful contact details in case of emergency
Midrand was hit hard by a destructive hailstorm this evening that has caused damage to properties, cars and infrastructure.

Following the damaging hailstorm that hit Midrand and surrounding areas, City of Joburg has just the emergency contact details for those in need to call for assistance.
MIDRAND HAILSTORM LEAVES A TRAIL OF DESTRUCTION
This unexpected hailstorm tore Midrand apart – leaving a trail of destruction. It is reported that Alexandra had its fair share of destructive weather.
Properties and vehicles were damaged by hail measured to the size of a golf ball this evening. Some roads have become no-go areas after they were forcefully blockaded by hail and debris emerging from the destruction.

WARNING TO MOTORISTS
Before issuing the emergency contacts, City of Joburg recently advised motorists to obey the rules of the road to minimise risks amid the heavy rainfall.
“Motorists are urged to obey road signs, traffic signals and especially road closures due to flooded bridges or unsafe driving conditions which unsafe to traverse,” the city cautioned.
