The Department of Basic Education has warned against the circulation of fake news regarding leaked exam papers, which is caused undue stress and panic amongst matriculants.

The department says it wishes to assures parents and learners that there have been no examinations paper leaked nor has an announcement about any rewrite of any papers been made.

The department says the social media posts are a pure fabrication which are malicious.

“The Department can confirm that week three of the NSC exams concludes today and since the start of the examinations no serious irregularities have occurred”, it said in a statement.

“This implies that the measures put in place to secure the examinations are working well thus far.”
