Mashatile blames apartheid for service delivery issues

Deputy President Paul Mashatile has come under fire for blaming apartheid for the lack of service delivery.

Deputy minister Paul Mashatile blames apartheid government over service delivery in a sitting held for the National Council of Provinces.

He mentioned in the question process that the ANC government had delivered most of the people’s basic needs that the apartheid government had denied for black communities to have.

Mashatile takes his apartheid experience and blames apartheid government for ANC downfall

Matshatile blames the apartheid government after ANC government failed after 30-years to fix the service delivery issues in certain black communities.

He mentioned that as the ANC government they were not able to reach all the communities but reassured the members in the sitting that the ANC does something in these communities.

According to IOL, Matshatile said that the apartheid government failed to provide water, electricity and solid infrastructures in black communities.

He further went on to criticise the apartheid government by mentioning his upbringing as a student who lived in Alexandra in Gauteng he used a candle to study.

Blame game by Matshatile caused a stir on socials

Users on X, formerly known as Twitter criticised the deputy president for blaming apartheid after 30 years that the ANC government has been in power.

On the Streets of X, many went on as far as mentioning that the ANC being in power so many years has not lead to any progress, they have just thrown the whole country in the pits.

“They won’t blame themselves for 30 years of looting, it must be apartheid. Everything the ANC touched, failed or was destroyed. #VoetsekANC,” wrote @RajenN2107.

“Maybe they blaming themselves as they have the most of the apartheid rules for themselves just in reverse!,” wrote @Billza71

The ANC has been in power for many years and had the time to address all the challenges, fix the infrastructure and build the economy.

Social media users criticised the government, urging it to focus on fixing current issues rather than continually blaming apartheid for ongoing problems.
