Rumours have been circulating that beloved HOT102.7 radio DJ Mark Pilgrim passed away, but did he really die?

Social media has been abuzz since the news that Mark Pilgrim has passed away started circulating, but did the beloved radio DJ really die?
Pilgrim is currently battling with Stage 4 lung cancer and has been sharing updates with his followers on social media regarding his health.
DID MARK PILGRIM PASS AWAY?
In a brief statement released on Thursday night HOT102.7 FM debunked the rumour.
“HOT102.7 Would like to inform the public that Mark Pilgrim has not passed on. Social media posts suggesting he’s died are incorrect. Mark has asked that people refrain from sharing fake news around his condition,” said HOT102.7 MD Lloyd Madurai.

It isn’t necessarily fake news that Mark Pilgrim passed away but it is not the radio DJ that died.
WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE DJ
- At the age of 18 he was diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer, which spread to his lungs and kidneys.
- In 2022 he was told that cancer had coming knocking on his door again and he had stage 4 lung cancer. He is currently undergoing medical treatment.
- He is also a friend of The Reach for a Dream Foundation and a patron of CANSA. Mark is well known as the bald head that leads the annual CANSA Shavathons.
