According to Scrolla Africa has reported that the Zulu Traditional Prime Minister’s health deteriorated over the weekend which led to his admission to ICU. However, some pray that Buthelezi may get back on the mend and live till the 2024 national elections.

“We are all praying and asking God to keep him maybe until the elections. But it is very bad because that week he was on life support”, a source said.

The King and Prime Minister have been at loggerheads for months now with public feuds which started after the appointment of Inkosi Thanduyise Mzimela as Ingonyama Trust Board Chairperson.

Before his appointment, Mzimela admitted to not being capable of holding the position of chairperson as he lacks the capacity for the position and had requested a withdrawal of his nomination.

Buthelezi had instead wished for someone with a legal background to be appointed as Chair, such as Mzimela’s predecessor Judge Jerome Ngwenya.
