ALERT: Tshwane streets closed due to Mamelodi Sundowns match

Some Tshwane streets will be closed as Mamelodi Sundowns will be up against Maritzburg United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Motorists are urged to find alternative routes as some streets in Tshwane will be closed due to the soccer match between Mamelodi Sundowns FC and Maritzburg United.

The Nedbank Cup last 16 match will take place at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Sunday, 17 March at 18:00. Many have tipped that The Brazilians will proceed to the last eight and join Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC.

TSHWANE STREETS CLOSED DUE TO THE MAMELODI SUNDOWNS SOCCER MATCH

Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) spokesperson Isaac Mahamba said the streets around Lucas Moripe Stadium will be closed from 14:30 until 22:30.

The following streets will be affected:

  • Thusago Street and Hlahla Street
  • Ramatsui Street and Hlahla Street
  • Maunde Street and Hlahla Street
  • Maunde Street and Magodielo Street
  • Maunde Street and Magombane Street
  • Pilane Street and Maunde Street

Motorists are advised to avoid the above-mentioned streets and use alternative routes such as:

  • WF Nkomo Street
  • Khudu Street
  • Sekhu Street
  • Monroe Street
  • Sehloho Street
  • Seeiso Street
  • Letswalo Street

Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) and South African Police Service (SAPS) officers will be deployed to monitor all affected streets.
