Baggage woes continue at OR Tambo

More the 3000 domestic travellers have been left without their baggage due to a technical glitch at OR Tambo

As thousands of travellers make a final beeline for their holiday destinations ahead of Christmas, OR Tambo International Airport is still experiencing a glitch in their baggage sorting system, which has left thousands of domestic passengers without their luggage.

The technical glitch, that began on Friday has resulted in extended check-in times, delayed flights and delayed baggage.

In a notice issued on the airport’s social media pages, the airport has urged passengers to arrive earlier than expected to allow for sufficient process.

According to FlySAFair travel updates, passengers could expect to receive their luggage within24 to 48hrs.

“If notified that your luggage has arrived at the airport, passengers are welcome to collect their belongings in person” the airline said.

“Should your luggage be cleared for home delivery, please note that while we are making every effort, deliveries are experiencing delays, with an expected timeline of 24 to 48 hours.”
