Power utility Eskom has adjusted the levels of loadshedding for the upcoming week due to the loss of generating power.

UPDATED LOAD SHEDDING SCHEDULE

From Sunday evening 19 November the country will be switching between the first three stages of load shedding.

The country will be on stage three loadshedding at of midnight 20 November till 5am where it will then switch to stage two.

Loadshedding will return to stage three from 4pm till midnight.

Up until Wednesday, the schedule for stage three will remain while from 5am till 4pm the country will be on stage one.

UNPLANNED OUTAGES

According to a statement, unplanned outages are currently at 16 264MW of generating capacity including delays at Lethabo Power Station.  The capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 6 606MW.

Eskom has urged the country to continue using electricity wisely.

“Use electricity sparingly and efficiently, including switching off geysers and pool pumps from 17:00 to 21:00, as this lowers demand and helps in alleviating the pressure on the power system and contributes to lower stages of loadshedding.”
