Legal Aid is an available service for all South Africans who need a lawyer, but can’t afford to pay for legal representation.

If your rights are being infringed (or you feel that your rights aren’t being represented), you have a right to seek legal advice from experienced lawyers.

Citizens who qualify for the Legal Aid means test can take advantage of free legal services, which can include representation in court (or court cases).

Arrests and divorces are some of the cases that could be represented by this organisation pro bono – or for good.

If you need a lawyer but can’t afford to pay for their services, Legal Aid provides representation to South Africans “based on a means test” according to their website.

Citizens who earn under a certain amount per month could quality for legal representation, which comes from some of the most experienced legal professionals in the country.
