HIJACKING AND MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said members from the KwaMashu station were conducting crime prevention duties along Malandela Road when they received a complaint about a hijacked vehicle.

The officers spotted the hijacked silver vehicle speeding along and brought it to a halt near a taxi rank. When the vehicle stopped, three men leapt from it and fled the scene on foot.

The police managed to stop one of the suspects. He was carrying a bag that contained a .38 revolver and 31 bullets.
