‘A wise man always changes his mind’: Kaizer Chiefs legend praises Sundowns

Kaizer Chiefs legend Jabu ‘Pule’ Mahlangu praised club rival Mamelodi Sundowns for transforming Bafana Bafana.

On 12 February, Kaizer Chiefs legend Jabu Mahlangu praised rival club Mamelodi Sundowns for changing South African football.

Jabu had been one of the best players in the country during his days.

He represented Bafana Bafana, won a lot with Kaizer Chiefs, and has been a big fan since then. Over the years, Jabu Mahlangu had been critical of Mamelodi Sundowns, saying they were destroying South African football.

Jabu believed that Sundowns’ dominance in the local league had not been helping the national team. Sharing on his Twitter (X), Jabu expressed his disappointment with Mamelodi Sundowns.

“Sundowns are destroying the PSL and Bafana Bafana.”

Sharing on his Instagram, Jabu Mahlangu celebrated Bafana Bafana’s run at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon). He also congratulated Ivory Coast for winning the tournament before he praised Sundowns.

“Salute CIV for being champions of Africa. Nigeria, Hade, mara “go surround, come surround”, I’m sure you are downing Jolof with water now🤣, with humble pie as a side dish.” he said.

“Last year, I made some comments regarding Sundowns and how they are killing South African football; bafwethu, a wise man, always changes his mind. The national team has benefitted from having an influx of Masandawana in the squad.” he finished.


After the Kaizer Chiefs legend Jabu Mahlangu praised Mamelodi Sundowns, many fans hailed his humility.
