Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali has given his reasons why he chose to join Moroka Swallows.

The 33-year-old left Mamelodi Sundowns in May after both parties agreed to mutually terminate his contract and since then, the former Orlando Pirates man was linked to several local clubs.

On Friday, Swallows announced that Jali joined the club on a two-year deal.

Speaking to Gagasi FM, Jali said one of the reasons he joined the Soweto giants was that he wanted to stay in Johannesburg.

“I want to say thank you to the chairman first. I’ve been waiting long until I signed the contract. I said to Mike ‘I don’t want to leave Joburg, so it’s better I’d be in Joburg’.

“And I’m so glad the club made the decision because the people believe in me.”
