IFP supporters injured in N2 bus collision heading to manifesto launch

This morning, IFP supporters’ buses collided on N2 highway near Bridge14 at Gingindlovu, en route to the party’s manifesto launch.

In a startling turn of events, multiple supporters of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) found themselves in distress this morning as three buses en route to the party’s election manifesto launch collided on the N2 highway near Bridge14 at Gingindlovu.

The incident, which resulted in several passengers sustaining injuries, has cast a shadow over the eagerly anticipated political event scheduled at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.

SABC reported, Samantha Meyerick, speaking on behalf of IPSS Medical Rescue, recounted the urgency of the situation: “On arrival, it was established that three busses had collided leaving multiple patients injured. Medical services began the treatment.”

The report added that among the injured were eight IFP supporters. One individual was in critical condition, prompting emergency responders to promptly transport them to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment.

Furthermore, advanced medical teams, equipped to handle mass casualties, were deployed to the scene to assist those with minor injuries.

N2 Southbound traffic delays warning

The disruption caused by the crash has prompted authorities to issue warnings about traffic delays along the N2 southbound route.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Many are left wondering about the safety measures in place for political rally attendees.
