‘I do not believe I can be overshadowed”-KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube

KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube has urged women to not ever undermine themselves and never feel overshadowed by men.

KwaZulu-Natal premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube has finally set things straight with journalists regarding the viral video, where she appears to be undermined by ANC KZN chairperson Siboniso Duma.

A confident Dube-Ncube backed herself, refusing to be seen as a meek female leader.

“I think I am woman enough, I am strong enough, I am leader enough and I do not believe that any woman at any time should feel over shadowed”, says the Premier.

Nomuas-Dube has also advised other women to never feel intimidated.

“I think we need to understand that we(women) are leaders in our own right and we shouldot feel intimidated in any way shape or form” says Dube-Ncube.

EFF CONDEMNS DUMA

The premier was speaking in response to a viral video that has divided social media users and saw other political parties speak up condemning Duma.

In the video, taken during the Springboks trophy tour in Durban, a voice can be heard calling the Premier forward to hoist the Webb Ellis up.

However instead of Dube-Ncube lifting the trophy, Duma quickly steps up and lifts it up alongside Eben Etzebeth.

The EFF in KZN has condemned Duma and accused him of being ‘disgusted to be led by a woman’

“It is quite clear now for South Africa to see that Duma is intolerant and completely disgusted to be led a woman” says EFF KZN leader Mongezi Twala.

Twala adds, “Nomusa Dube is the premier of this province and she must be given the respect that she deserves.”
