HUAWEI P60 Pro’s Camera System and Low-Light Mastery

The HUAWEI P60 Pro took the top spot in the DXOMARK Smartphone Camera ranking thanks to its superb still photograph quality.

The camera setup features a 48-megapixel main camera, accompanied by a 48-megapixel telephoto lens and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.

Quality remains up to scratch at most zoom levels, with noticeable degradation only becoming apparent at the extreme end of the range around 100x zoom.

The main camera has a focal length of 27mm compared to 35mm focal length film. This means its 1x zoom is equivalent to a 35mm lens on a full-frame camera. The ultrawide lens is 13mm, and the telephoto lens is 90mm.

This combination ensures versatility and outstanding performance in various photography and video scenarios. The colour rendition is crisp, and the autofocus is fast and accurate.

The HUAWEI P60 Pro’s low-light performance is due to a variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4, and intelligent software. The aperture opens wide (f/1.4) in low-light situations to capture more light. When capturing a group portrait, it narrows down to increase the depth of field, ensuring that all subjects are sharp and in focus.
