The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is now encouraging youngsters to apply for the academic year ahead. Following the turbulent times experienced during lockdown, universities and TVET colleges are offering students the chance to follow their dreams amid this global pandemic. The registration period opened earlier this month.
In a statement issued by NSFAS, they have assured applicants that the funding ‘will cover students until their qualification is complete’, subject to academic criteria. They have also offered advice for students who haven’t registered for the academic year, despite gaining approval for funding in 2020.
“Apply for NSFAS2021 and let us worry about your registration and tuition costs and even provide you with allowances for groceries, personal care, learning material, accommodation, or transport. You can apply online now at https://nsfas.org.za.”
“If you were approved for 2020 funding, but never registered for the academic year, you will need to apply to receive 2021 NSFAS funding. Remember to apply online before the close of the application period.”
“Once you are approved for NSFAS funding, the funding covers you until you complete your qualification; provided you continue to meet the academic criteria. You just need to focus on studying and passing your modules to secure your continued funding.”NSFAS statement
