House robbers who ran out of luck were taught a lesson by angry community members whose punishment came to a halt after the police’s intervention.

HOUSE ROBBERS MESS IN THE WRONG COMMUNITY

Earlier today, Friday, 17 February, community members in Birch Acres in Kempton Park foiled a house robbery in progress which resulted in heavy punishment for the criminals.

According to the Voice of Tembisa, the angry community members caught and beat up the robbers as they tried to break into a house and steal items.

According to an eye witness, the suspects, some armed, were travelling in a vehicle at Mobola and Isimuku Street when they were stopped in their tracks. However, some of the accomplices managed to flee the scene leaving two of their members who were left to answer to the angry community.

The ending could have been far more severe for the house robbers owing to the swift response by the Norkem Park Police who got to the scene and brought order.

COMMUNITY FUMES OVER COPS’ INTERVENTION

The intervention by the police has left some onlookers disappointed as the community members were seemingly not done with the house robbers.

Jojo Mashamaite said: “That community still need to learn from Winnie Mandela. Those kinds of people get more than a beating”.

Moses Mabunda said: “The police should leave the community to deal with these things, we can’t live in fear in our country, they should be taken to the braaing stand”.

Sarah Tshidi said: “At some point, this is a good example, they need to learn a lesson… The thieves need to be stripped naked and pull/ push a truck loaded with bricks for a long distance then be punished by the community before they can lock them up.”

Oupa Jose Mogoiwa said: “ It’s my first time seeing unharmed robbers like these ones. No man, please people of Birch Acres next time when you catch fresh meat like this please our braai stand is always ready at Winnie Mandela, please bring them to this site because we can see you are the ones who give these guys nice treatment”.
