Here we go again: DA tables an

Democratic Alliance leader Mmusi Maimane has said the DA would again be tabling a motion of no confidence in Jacob Zuma – if at first you don’t succeed and all that –, adding that he hopes to get some ANC members to vote for the motion this time around.

If nothing else, the motion is sure to spark yet another epic roasting of the ANC by MPs like John Steenhuisen and Mbuyiseni Ndlozi.

“The only key actors who have to come into play, and perhaps it is these ministers who find their voice in public rather than when it matters most, which is to use the institution of parliament to be able to speak against Jacob Zuma.”

Maimane asked that the ANC caucus – of which many members have in recent months spoken out against the current ANC leadership – back the rest of the National Assembly in removing Zuma from power.

“This motion is about whether ANC will remain true because it faces two choices: either the parliamentary caucus can appreciate the societal malice or the fact that the entire ANC caucus is united behind this.”
