South Africans are flocking to buy air fryers on Black Friday, making it the top pick for many shoppers, says Pick n Pay. The retail giant reports a consistent surge in popularity over the past 7 years.
Pick n Pay reveals a doubling of air fryer sales compared to the previous Black Friday, attributing the success to proactive stock increases.

However, the heightened demand quickly depleted the increased stock during this year’s event, according to IOL News.
Ozow, a tool for analyzing retail data, reveals the highest transaction of the day, reaching R200,000. The Black Friday dashboard exposes indices and shows an average transaction of R393,65.
A significant purchase of over R800 000 stands out. Bargain-hunting started at midnight, peaked between 8 am to 12 noon, and declined after 3 pm.

Bureau of Market Research (BMR) data predicts a R7 billion surge in shopping compared to last year.
BMR anticipates a substantial portion of sales to occur online, projecting an increase from R19 billion in 2022 to R26.6 billion in 2023.
