“This lady visited my office and told me about her sick daughter who needs oxygen,” he said.

McKenzie, also a Mayor of the Central Karoo District Municipality, said the problem they were facing was that their small generator was faulty and every time it breaks the daughter would have to be hospitalised.

However, the family wasn’t happy with that because “whenever she goes to hospital she is vulnerable and picks up other germs which worsen her situation,” McKenzie cited.

“The mother knocked on many doors and today she knocked on our door and her child was helped.”

He added she made arrangements to pay him back monthly and was told that the generator was given to her for free.
“She broke down and praise God,” McKenzie relived the moment.

PA LEADER EXPLAINS REASONS TO HELP THE PARENT

“The reason why I am sharing the story is that so many of us take things to God that God already gave us the blessings and power to assist His people.
Stop praying that people get bread when you can take out a note and buy bread.
God is great and some of us are not perfect but we have a heart for God’s people. I saw my own mother in this lady today, my mom went through fire, humiliation and being laughed at to assist me, I saw my mother’s efforts in this lady today and I am proud that I could be of assistance,” Gayton McKenzie reflected on his good deed.
