The friendliest hotels around the world
The Western Cape offers tourists boatloads of brilliance, whether its the amazing attractions, delicious cuisine, historic charm or beautiful weather, chances are you’re more than likely to have a glorious time.

Now, one of the province’s hotels has even earned the title of one of the Top 10 friendliest hotels in Africa.

According to HawaiianIslands.com, who analyzed 12.6 million publicly available Tripadvisor reviews around the world and uncovered the 4 and 5 star hotels that are most frequently described as “friendly”, Tulbagh Boutique Heritage Hotel ranked as the third friendliest in all of Africa.

Described as ‘An intimate hotel in the heart of the Tulbagh Valley’, Tulbagh Boutique Heritage Hotel dates back to the early 1800s and is also the fourth oldest hotel in South Africa.

According to the study, the top 10 hotels in Africa which mention the word “friendly” amongst the reviews were as follows:
- Kombo Beach Hotel, Kotu, Gambia
- Ocean Bay Hotel & Resort, Bakau, Gambia
- Tulbagh Boutique Heritage Hotel, Tulbagh, South Africa
- Nubian island, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
- Marhaba Beach, Sousse, Tunisia
- Iberostar Club Palmeraie Marrakech, Marrakech, Morroco
- Hotel Kantu, Hammam Sousse, Tunisia
- Veranda Paul et Virginie Hotel & Spa, Grand Gaube, Mauritius
- A’Zambezi River Lodge, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
- Nubian Village Hotel, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
Kombo Beach Hotel in Kotu, Gambia, was also named the WORLD’S friendliest hotel, with 52.74% of reviewers calling it “friendly.”
