Extended border hours this festive season

No need to rush to the border as the Border Management Authority has implemented longer hours starting hour earlier each day

The Border Management Authority has announced its extended working hours during the festive season to ensure, less congestion and more travellers are processed during peak travel days.

The extended operating hours are expected to last till early January.

The BMA has warned against travellers attempting to enter the country illegally, such as Zimbabweans travelling through Botswana for entry.

“We would like to send a stern warning to all individuals planning to illegally enter South Africa through the borderline as the Border Guards, working with members of the SANDF will be waiting for them on the borderline.”

MAKE USE OF OTHER PORTS

The BMA has also appealed to travelers to seek other borders which are not known to be as congested for entry into that country.

“We would like to appeal to travellers to consider using less busy ports of entry where possible, for instance, the travellers going to Mozambique can consider using Mananga port of entry rather than Lebombo since both ports carry almost the same exact distance to Maputo City” the BMA says.
