Eskom announces nine-hour power outage in Gauteng this week

Parts of Gauteng will be without electricity due to planned maintenance by Eskom, leading to a nine-hour power outage.
The power utility will do the maintenance on Thursday, 18 January.
NINE-HOUR POWER OUTAGE IN GAUTENG
Eskom said there will be electricity supply disruption in Vosloorus due to maintenance that will be conducted on the distribution network.
“The outage will affect customers in Vosloorus Extensions 5, 6, and 16 on Thursday, 18 January from 09:00 – 18:00.
“The interruption in electricity supply is necessary to perform essential maintenance on our distribution power lines,” Eskom said.
Customers have been advised to treat all electrical appliances as live during the power outage.
