ICYMI: Nine-hour power outage in Gauteng scheduled for Thursday
Parts of Gauteng will not have electricity on Thursday, 18 January due to Eskom maintenance. This will result in a nine-hour power outage.

Some areas in Gauteng will be without electricity due to planned maintenance by Eskom, leading to a nine-hour power outage.
The power utility said the maintenance is scheduled for Thursday, 18 January.
NINE-HOUR POWER OUTAGE IN GAUTENG
Eskom said there will be electricity supply disruption in Vosloorus due to maintenance that will be conducted on the distribution network.
“The outage will affect customers in Vosloorus Extensions 5, 6, and 16 on Thursday, 18 January from 09:00 – 18:00. The interruption in electricity supply is necessary to perform essential maintenance on our distribution power lines,” Eskom said.
Customers have been advised to treat all electrical appliances as live during the power outage.

KZN BRACES FOR ELECTRICITY SUPPLY DISRUPTION
Eskom has also announced a 12-hour planned power outage for KwaZulu-Natal.
In a brief statement, Eskom said the planned power outage will take place between 05:00 and 17:00 on Thursday, 18 January for maintenance.
“Should the outage not happen as planned for any reason, it will alternatively be implemented on 19/01/2024. Customers in the Elanskop area will be impacted. Customers are reminded to treat all installations as live and dangerous during the interruption period,” the power utility said.
