Eskom has issued a notice regarding an upcoming partial road closure along the N3 National route, specifically Section 6X Zandspruit Padatal Entrance/Sand River Valley Entrance in the KwaZulu-Natal province.

This closure, affecting both northbound and southbound lanes of the N3 highway, is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 23 April, from 8:00 to 16:00 at the Zandspruit Padatal Entrance.

In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, a contingency date has been set for Wednesday, 24 April, during the same hours.

Eskom conducts essential maintenance on transmission lines

The purpose of this road closure is to facilitate essential maintenance work by Eskom, involving the replacement of overhead transmission line structures and conductors that supply electricity to the area.

To ensure the smooth flow of traffic during this period, RTI KZN Traffic officials will be present to manage and monitor traffic diversions, minimizing disruptions as much as possible.

During the road closure, traffic in both directions will be temporarily halted for intervals not exceeding 30 minutes at a time. Motorists planning to travel along the affected stretch of the N3 highway are advised to plan their routes accordingly, exercise caution, and adhere to posted speed limits.

“The patience and cooperation will be appreciated,” said Eskom.
