Eskom says it will implement Stage 1 load shedding over the weekend.
The power utility said rolling blackouts will be suspended between 05:00 and 16:00 ,thereafter, Stage 1 load shedding will be implemented.
LOAD SHEDDING FOR THE WEEKEND
In a statement, Eskom said due to the sustained performance of the generation fleet and the anticipated lower weekend electricity demand, Stage 1 load shedding is in force and will continue until 05:00 on Saturday, 27 January as previously communicated.
“Thereafter, rolling blackouts will be suspended from 05:00 until 16:00 when Stage 1 will resume until 05:00 on Sunday. This pattern of suspending load shedding during the day and implementing Stage 1 in the evening will be repeated on Sunday,” the power utility said.
Eskom said it will closely monitor the power system and communicate should any significant changes occur and he outlook for the week ahead will be provided on Sunday afternoon.
