Eskom ramps up load shedding to Stage 5 – Find your schedule

Eskom has ramped up load shedding to Stage 5 from 14:00 on Monday, 24 July.
The power utility had said that it would implement Stage 3 and 4 load shedding alternatively on Monday.
ESKOM RAMPS UP LOAD SHEDDING
In a statement, the power utility said this is due to further delays in returning generating units to service, as well as the further failure of 5 generating units.
Stage 5 loadshedding will be implemented from 14:00 today until 05:00 on Tuesday. Thereafter, Stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented until further notice.

On Sunday, 23 July, Eskom said breakdowns have increased to 16 943MW of generating capacity while the generating capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 3 761MW.
The power utility said the delay in returning to service a generating unit each at Kendal and two generating units at Tutuka power stations is contributing to the current capacity constraints.
