Employee wins full year paid leave at company’s lucky draw

An employee in China is likely to spend the full year off work after winning the surprising lucky draw.

This employee of an undisclosed company in China won 365 days of paid leave at the organization’s annual dinner, Kaya 959 reported.

According to Kaya 959, the man, Chen, reportedly holds a higher position in the firm and was seen in a video circulation on social media holding a big cheque that reads. “365 days of paid leave.”

The company is expected to discuss with Chen if he “would prefer to encash or enjoy his paid leave.”

The annual dinner was reportedly put on hold for three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The lucky winner of the near-R34 million PowerBall jackpot that was struck on Tuesday, 11 April, is somewhere in Johannesburg, the national lottery operator Ithuba revealed on Thursday.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Spar in Alberton, Johannesburg, Gauteng, according to Ithuba.
The lottery operator encouraged players to check their tickets. Tuesday’s jackpot was worth a staggering R33 670 044.67.
“PowerBall has seen monumental wins since January 2023, the PowerBall game has had four jackpot winners who collectively, have been paid out an enormous R214 373 373.14 million.
“The highest PowerBall jackpot that was paid out earlier this year, was R75 million and was won on 14 March 2023 by an unemployed Johannesburg woman,” said Ithuba.
