Elon Musk, 52, said in a post on his X platform, formerly known as Twitter, that he will have an MRI on his neck and upper back and that he may need surgery.
The world’s richest man said he will find out this week whether he needs surgery before his proposed cage fight with Meta Platforms Inc. co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.

He had earlier stated that he might need an operation to strengthen the titanium plate holding his C5/C6 vertebrae together.
What caused Musk’s back pain?
Musk’s health is of enormous interest to people all around the world because he is the CEO of Tesla Inc. and Space Exploration Technologies Corp, as well as the owner of a closely monitored social media platform.

Musk, a noted workaholic, has claimed to have suffered from “mega back pain” following a fight with a sumo wrestler.
“Managed to throw him, but it cost me smashing my C5/C6 disc and 8 years of mega back pain! Finally fixed with C5/C6 disc fusion,” said Musk.

Musk’s tweet regarding his back difficulties came after he hyped up the battle on Sunday, announcing that it will be streamed live on Twitter, which has now been rebranded as X. The billionaire went on to say that the fights revenue will go to charity for veterans.
What heated up the rivalry between the two CEOs?
The post announcing the sumo match was followed by another with a photo of what seems to be homemade sumo ring. Musk made the injury public last year after challenging Russian President Vladimir Putin to a “single combat” over Ukraine.
