Revealed: THIS is Elon Musk’s fleet of luxury cars

Which cars come to mind when you think of one of the collection of the world’s richest people? We take a look at the fleet of luxury supercars that the new owner of Twitter and South Africa-born Elon Musk owns. 

As Musk owns Tesla it comes as no surprise that one of the cars he drives often are the ones manufactured by his own company.

According to Motorius.com it’s the Model S that Musk has revealed he drives the most. Considering many find it to be the most comfortable and accommodating of all Teslas and that’s not much of a surprise according to the website. 

• The most expensive car Musk owns is the 1976 Lotus Esprit also known as “Wet Nellie” which costs $920 000 (R16 471 440).

The British sports car transformed into a small submarine in The Spy Who Loved Me. In 2013 Musk reportedly used a representative to bid on it at auction, winning with a bid of almost $1 million.

According to Automobileinformer.com it is equipped with a powerful 2.0 litre, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine capable of catching speeds of 0 to 60 mph in just 7.1 seconds and can reach a superfast Top Speed of 138 mph. If you want to add this car to your own collection then you will have to pay a whopping $200 000 (R3 580 820). 

• The second most expensive car that the businessman has owned is the 1997 McLaren F1 which costs $815 000 (R4 591 841). 

• Another expensive car that Musk owns is the 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo which cost $154 710 (R2 769 943).
