The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) says it is ready to print ballot papers for the upcoming elections.
South Africa is heading to the polls on 29 May and the elections have been described as the most important since the dawn of democracy.
Following the finalisation of the candidate lists, the Electoral Commission said it ready to proceed with the printing of ballot papers for the elections.

In respect of independent candidate, the IEC said ballot papers will have;
Earlier this week, the Electoral Court dismissed cases lodged by five political parties against the commission.
The five political parties – Operation Dudula, Arise South Africa, Cape Independence Party, Defenders of the People, and Independent South Africa National Civic Organisation – lodged cases against their exclusion from contesting in the upcoming elections.
“The decision by the Electoral Court has cleared the path for the Commission to begin with the mammoth task of printing the ballot papers for the 2024 National and Provincial Elections which take place on 29 May.
“The Electoral Commission appreciates the hard work of the Electoral Court for bringing these matters to finality. These applications had immense implications for the production of the ballot papers for the forthcoming elections,” the IEC said.
