Elderly Gqeberha man stabbed: Murder suspects caught on the scene

Two Gqeberha suspects have been charged with murder after they were caught red-handed on the scene of the crime, with their victim wrapped in a blanket.

Two men who allegedly killed an elderly man in his home Walmer, Gqeberha, were caught red-handed at the scene of the murder.

According to Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, police spokesperson, the Gqeberha K9 unit arrested two suspects following the murder of an 87-year-old man, on Saturday evening.

“It is alleged that the daughters of the deceased Richard Adams (87) visited his home at approximately 18:30.”

Van Rensburg said on arrival at the residence, they knocked on the door with no one answering.

“They became suspicious when they saw a movement in the house. They immediately contacted the 10111 centre and Gqeberha K9 unit were the first responders. “

Van Rensburg said police gained access to the property with keys provided by the daughters of the deceased man.

Police found body wrapped in a blanket

“Upon entering the property, police found one male suspect aged 36 and one female suspect aged 28 in the house.”

“That is where they found the body of the deceased wrapped in a blanket. Although he had multiple stab wounds, the cause of death will only be determined during the post mortem.”

She said both suspects were immediately arrested on charges of murder and the investigation is still ongoing.
