Cyril Ramaphosa Thuma Mina

In just three months in office, President Cyril Ramaphosa has proven to not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk… well, mostly in a literal sense.

The President’s trademark health walks have seen him engage with ordinary citizens in various parts of the country.

The latest of these took part in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni on Friday morning, and it was a special one as it formed part of the launch of the ANC’s “Thuma Mina” campaign.

Addressing those who had gathered, Ramaphosa explained the purpose of the campaign, saying it’s focus is not to garner support in the lead-up to the 2019 general elections, but it’s reaching out to people in an effort to improve their lives for the better.

“The ANC is back. The ANC is strong. The ANC is powerful. The ANC is looking forward to winning next year’s elections,” he said.

Other leaders present at the walk include former Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula, who’s now heading the ANC’s election campaign, as well as Gauteng Premier, David Makhura and Health Minister, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi.

The official launch of the Thuma Mina campaign will be held at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa at 14:00 on Friday.
