Charred body found in one of Joburg’s dilapidated buildings

A charred body was discovered in one of Joburg’s dilapidated buildings this past weekend.

WHERE THE CHARRED BODY WAS DISCOVERED

The charred body believed to be of a young woman was found in an abandoned building in Roodeepoort, west of Joburg.

City of Joburg’s Ward 86 councillor Chantelle Fourie-Shawe was notified about this grim discovery.

“[Yesterday morning] a body of what is suspected to be a young woman was found burned at one of the many City of Joburg Joburg Property Company (JPC) dilapidated buildings in Delarey, Roodepoort. I’m here with the community who are working alone to safeguard it before another person’s child is murdered,” she reported.

“This happens because municipalities are not keeping the parks clean.”

“Police not doing their job when one reports incidents at this specific park in Molly Road, Delarey. We asked several times for help to get rid of the elements and now someone had to give their life. So sad,” Erika added.

POLICE CALLED TO THE SCENE OF A DISFIGURED BODY FOUND

In meanwhile, in the community of KwaThema a hungry dog returned home with a decomposing mutilated body.
It is reported that on 24 April, Kwa-Thema police responded to a complaint after the traumatising discovery of the human hand by the dog which went looking for food.

It is alleged that the owner of the dog noticed his dog with a large bone in his mouth, on further investigation discovered that what he thought was an animal bone was, in fact, a human forearm and hand.

It is further reported that he instructed his dog to drop the arm and immediately contacted the local police.
On arrival, police found the arm and Emergency Medical Services were contacted to confirm the human remains.
The Johannesburg K9 unit was also called to the scene and on arrival was pointed in the direction of where the dog was seen coming from which led them to the remains (body) of an African male.
