The revamped World Rugby SVNS Series is set to hit Cape Town this weekend for two action-packed days of rugby and live music.

The revamped World Rugby S Series is set to hit Cape Town this weekend, on 9 and 10 December for two action-packed days of rugby and live music.

Ahead of the SVNS Cape Town event, the City is advising residents and visitors on the measures in place for the DHL Stadium.

Anticipating a crowd of approximately 50 000 people daily at the DHL Stadium on Saturday and Sunday, the festival features 12 men’s and women’s teams competing for the ultimate prize.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE CAPE TOWN SEVENS FESTIVAL

“The rebranded SVNS festival is more than just rugby; it offers fans a unique blend of sport, music, food, and immersive experiences.”

A stellar lineup of local entertainers, including DJ Zinhle, Jack Parow, NV Funk, Los Jetsons, Mila Rose, Sun-El Musician, and 3 Tons of Fun, will grace the stage.

The gates of DHL Stadium open at 08:00 on both days, with the first game kicking off at 9:00.

Given the expected influx of people and traffic in the Green Point Precinct, parking around the stadium will be limited.

In a bid to minimize traffic congestion, the city is providing a free MyCiTi shuttle service for ticket holders traveling to the DHL Stadium.

BUSSES WILL BE AVAILABLE

Buses will depart from the Civic Centre, CTICC, and Thibault Square MyCiTi stations starting at 07:30 on Saturday and Sunday.

The buses are running on demand until the last bus leaves the stadium for the Civic Centre at 21:30.

The Events Coordinating Committee, working closely with event organizers and SAPS, has put in place logistical and safety measures to ensure a memorable experience for players and fans.
