eThekwini residents, be alert! Brace for water supply shutdown as SANRAL undertakes a crucial N3 Durban Road construction project.

Residents and businesses in multiple areas are advised to brace for water supply disruptions as the South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) embarks on a crucial construction project along the N3 Durban Road.

The focus of this undertaking is the relocation of a 2.07 km steel pipeline, necessitating a temporary shutdown and isolation of the existing pipeline at the Ashburton Interchange.

The affected pipeline will be drained of water to facilitate the relocation. The entire operation expected to span from 14 November, until Saturday, 18 November.

Impact on water supply

Customers are strongly urged to curtail water consumption during this period. To prevent reservoirs from running dry due to reduced incoming flow into the system.

The construction-related water restrictions are a necessary measure to ensure the successful completion of SANRAL’s project.
