Ministers involved in facilitating the visit of the UAE President will provide an explanation to the public on Friday afternoon.

The Ministers involved in facilitating the visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed will explain the process to the public on Friday afternoon, 28 April.

President Cyril Ramaphosa says due process followed for visit

The leader reportedly refurbished Bulembu Airport in Bhisho Eastern Cape, where he landed with 500 passengers last week.

Once the news broke, some members of the public immediately questioned whether the extravagant visit was above board. According to the government, due process was followed.

The UAE President reportedly jetted into the Eastern Cape to celebrate the end of Ramadan at a private game reserve he owns in the province.

“The landing of a plane from the UAE, the various processes were followed and that they are going to be explained by the various ministers who have been involved in this whole process of the visit by the President of the UAE and the landing of the plane in Bulembu Airport in the Eastern Cape,” said President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week.

The briefing will take place in Pretoria at approximately 15:00.
