The South African Satanic Church has recently been terminated and de-registered.

A CO-FOUNDER SPOKE OUT ABOUT THE JOURNEY 

Riaan Swiegelaar, the co-founder of the South African Satanic Church (SASC), resigned as presiding priest of the controversial church in 2022.

At the time of his resignation, Riaan said he had decided after Christians had demonstrated unconditional love for him. 

According to Riaan, they could finally de-register the church after the death of former Steinhoff chief executive Markus Jooste.

In an interview with the Wide Awake podcast, he furthermore revealed that Markus was not only a Satanist but also the co-founder of the South African Satanic Church. 

During his resignation, Riaan signed an NDA Nondisclosure Agreement. 

When asked why he signed this, he replied that it was for them to let him resign and go. 

He said this was used to restrict him from saying anything. 

According to Riaan, there are influential, high-profile people involved in satanism in South Africa. 

HIGH-PROFILE PEOPLE IN SA ARE INVOLVED IN SATANISM 

“A lot of the members involved consists of CEO’s of big companies, people in the media industry and music industry.” 

Markus allegedly funded the legal team, sending Riaan indicts to keep him quiet. 

Riaan said he is not on a mission to expose certain involved people but rather share why they could not de-register the South African Satanic Church. 

The reason why he is speaking about Markus’s involvement is since his death, Riaan, along with his legal team, is now finally able to complete the de-registration of the church. 

Authorities have deregistered the SA Satanic Church 

Markus shot himself on 21 March with a 9mm pistol in Hermanus. 

Riaan also said he is now in the position to speak out as the NDA is not in place anymore since Markus’s suicide. 

He furthermore said the church had a total of 12 000 registered members. However, Riaan said he would say there is an estimate of more than 50 000 Satanists in South Africa. 

According to Riaan, there are influential, high-profile people involved in satanism in South Africa. 

THE CHURCH HAD 12 000 REGISTERED MEMBERS

Markus bought a building in Century City, which used to be a very lovely double-story car showroom where they would host the gathering. 

However, when Covid-19 hit South Africa, they were forced to hold these gatherings online. 

With the church, the founders wanted the legitimate organization for satanism to be acceptable. And for it to be a recognised religion.”
