Eskom, South Africa’s primary electricity supplier, has announced a scheduled power interruption for customers in parts of Johannesburg.

This disruption is essential for conducting maintenance on the distribution network, ensuring the reliability and safety of the electricity supply.

Areas to be affected in Johannesburg

The affected areas include Broadacres, Dainfern, Fourways, Gardens, and Witkoppen. The planned outage is set to occur on Thursday, 21 December 2023, from 9:00 to 15:00. During this period, customers are urged to treat all electrical appliances as live to prevent potential safety hazards.

“In the interest of safety, customers are advised to treat all electrical appliances as live at all times during the power supply outage,” said Eskom.
