The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for disruptive rain in KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday, 10 May. The weather warning key indicates there is a high likelihood of minor impacts.

The disruptive rain warning is valid from 10:00 until 23:00 on Wednesday. KwaZulu-Natal’s north coast and the adjacent interior will experience scattered showers and thundershowers.
“Significant amounts of rain have fallen in some of these areas, with Riverview having recorded 137mm in the past 24 hours.

“Models indicate more significant amounts of rain along the north coast and adjacent interior of KZN today, which may lead to flooding,” said the weather service.
