Yes, you read correctly. While we all waited for Former president Jacob Zuma to make a big announcement, it was anticlimactic when he said he was NOT resigning from the ANC.

BREAKING: JACOB ZUMA WILL NOT BE RESIGNING FROM THE ANC

Instead, Zuma said he would be voting for the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party next year.

“I have decided that I cannot and will not campaign for the ANC of Ramaphosa. My conscience will not allow me to lie to the people,” said Former President Zuma.

ZUMA SAID HE HAS BEEN PART OF THE ANC FOR 64 YEARS

He urges voters to vote for the MK Party and any other Progressive parties seeking the return “of our stolen land.”

Zuma was expected to make a big announcement today that could change the country’s political landscape. He was in Soweto to commemorate the 62nd anniversary of uMkhonto weSizwe.

ZUMA MADE IT CLEAR THAT HE WILL BE VOTING FOR MK PARTY

He explained earlier that he could not answer questions today or read his speech due to a sore throat and flu. Instead, he asked his daughter Duduzile to read the announcement for him.

Earlier ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa was nonchalant about the move, saying they would “note” the development.

RAMAPHOSA HAS BEEN NONCHALANT ABOUT THE ANNOUNCEMENT

Ramaphosa told journalists at the Alberton Civic Centre in Ekurhuleni that Zuma’s announcement was just one more he would make since leaving office.

“He has, over time, been making a number of announcements. We will note that. What else can I do? There is nothing else that I can do but to note.

“Similarly, with the former president who says they won’t campaign, in the end, I think we are making a big deal out of this [and it] is much larger than what it should be,”

he said.
