Starting this Monday, the eThekwini Municipality will be distributing food vouchers to the elderly in all wards of the municipality.

The eThekwini Municipality is set to extend a helping hand to its senior citizens through the issuance of thousands of food vouchers as part of a dedicated social relief initiative.

Annually hosted by the Municipality, this program aims to honor and celebrate the elderly residents within the City.

The eThekwini Speaker, Councillor Thabani Nyawose, announced that the distribution of these food vouchers is scheduled to commence on Monday, 18 December 2023.

“The food vouchers will be available for collection by ward councillors from Monday, 18 December 2023. The ward councillors will subsequently issue the vouchers to senior citizens in their respective wards,” said Nyawose.
