BREAKING news just in: An earthquake was reported in parts of Johannesburg, in Gauteng NOW. Did you feel it?

An earthquake was reported near Johannesburg in Gauteng on Wednesday evening. 

BREAKING: EARTHQUAKE WAS REPORTED NEAR JHB 

According to EMSC, an Independent Scientific Organization and provider of real-time earthquake info, an earthquake measuring 3.2 magnitude has rattled the region near Johannesburg.

It sent shockwaves through the area just moments ago.

The seismic event occurred approximately 27 kilometers west of Johannesburg at 21:24:51 local time.

THE EARTHQUAKE WAS REPORTED MINUTES AGO

MORE QUAKES REPORTED IN GAUTENG

A 2.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Gauteng around 03:15 on Thursday, 29 June.

This comes just two weeks after another quake which caused extensive damage was reported also in Gauteng.

ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE REPORTED IN GAUTENG

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) the earthquake was nine kilometres south-south-east of Alberton.

Gauteng residents took to social media to share about the “tremor” they felt in the wee hours.
