More than a month after losing her court bid to challenge her arrest, Dr Nandipha Magudumana is speaking out – this time making a series of shocking claims.

In a lengthy statement to her family and friends, Magudumana says she has had to rely on her faith to get through the difficult months since being nabbed in Tanzania, an arrest she maintains is illegal.

“It’s been a few months since my illegal incarceration at Bizzah Makhete Correctional Centre in Kroonstad, but I would like to assure you that I am holding on in faith. The deep conversations I’ve been having with God give me strength with each passing day. Though the last few weeks have not been easy, I am more convinced than ever that there is a reason and a purpose for everything,” she said.

She was arrested in Arusha, Tanzania, earlier this year with her lover, convicted rapist and murderer, Thabo Bester. She is accused of fraud, defeating the ends of justice, violating a body, aiding and abetting an inmate to escape from lawful custody, corruption and arson.

MAGUDUMANA ACCUSES MEN IN GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESS OF ABUSE

Dr Nandipha Magudumana also went on to say she has suffered emotional, sexual and financial abuse at the hands of some influential men in business and government.

While she doesn’t mention them by name, Magudumana says she will soon provide clarity on some of her allegations.

“The many painful times I have suffered physical, emotional, financial and sexual abuse at the hands of powerful men, including some of the most powerful & prominent families in South Africa currently occupying the highest offices in government and business,” Magudumana said.

She further claims that she and other female inmates’ human rights are being violated.

Magudumana tells her children that she misses them and does everything she can to see them.

Amid claims several production houses are planning to turn the scandal into a story, she said she has given a black woman-owned production company from South Africa exclusive rights to do so.

“I am also aware of the various productions being shot about my life, and I’d like to categorically state that if my voice or that of my legal team is not represented, there is likely no truth or credibility to that story. I have conditionally granted a black woman owned production company from South Africa exclusive rights to my story and our lawyers are finalising the paperwork”
